Introducing the AusIMM Hunter Student Chapter

The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM) is the peak body and trusted voice for professionals working in the resources sector. We advance careers, inspire leadership, uphold standards and connect communities.

AusIMM was founded in 1893 and operates under a Royal Charter. Our Student Chapter exists to serve the students of the Hunter Region and wider encompassing area. Formed from our UNSA Constitution and AusIMM bylaws, our Chapter serves as a medium between the University of Newcastle and AusIMM.

We offer outstanding professional development opportunities including through Industry-led mentorship, seminars and site tours that not only encourage students into the industry, but provide first-hand experiences.

As a welcoming and inclusive organisation with members in 100 countries, AusIMM is committed to representing those who are building a professional career in the sector and improving environmental, social, and economic outcomes in the sector, now and for generations to come.
